PRICE STATISTICS (March 21 – 25, 2016)

The seminar is intended to broaden participants‘ understanding of the theory and practice of compiling consumer prices indices (CPIs). It focuses on the main building blocks of the CPI compilation: sampling and collecting data from retail outlets; handling temporarily and permanently unavailable items; adjusting prices due to quality changes; including new products and outlets; choosing index number formulas at lower and higher levels of aggregation; and chaining and linking indices with updated weighting structures.

The main seminar’s objective is to broaden participants’ understanding of the compilation, main uses and limitations of high frequency indicators for the compilation, analysis, and forecasting of gross domestic product (GDP) estimates.

National Accounts: Compilation of Quarterly GDP- (February 15 – 26, 2016)

The main seminar’s objective is to broaden the participants’ understanding of the compilation of quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) at current and constant prices. The seminar will be focused on the specific data sources, mainly basic short-term indicators highly correlated with the behavior of GDP components, and on respective compilation procedures applied.

QUARTERLY GDP AND RELATED HIGH FREQUENCY INDICATORS (HFIS)-(November 17 – 21, 2014)

The main seminar’s objective is to broaden participants in compilation of quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) at current and at constant prices. The seminar will be focused on sources and specific compilation procedures applied and in particular on the development and potential use of basic high frequency indicators correlated to the behaviour of the GDP components on the production and expenditure side.

ENHANCEMENT OF ANNUAL GDP – SUPPLY AND USE TABLES-(March 16 – 20, 2015)

The main seminar’s objective is to broaden participants’ knowledge of the Supply and Use and Input-Output table framework. The seminar will be focused on the conceptual structure and composite elements of the tables, as a basic milestone within the integrated national accounts framework: organization of the data sources and compilation procedures, including consistency issues and balancing of GDP estimates by production, income, and expenditure approaches at current and constant prices.
